Danielle Montalto-Bly today joined A. Cohen Law Firm P.C. as a name partner, and the firm has rebranded itself as Cohen Montalto P.C. The firm, which is based in Valley Stream, New York in Nassau County, will also open an office in Manhattan this summer.

Cohen Montalto P.C. is a leading boutique specializing in uncontested and contested divorces, child support and child custody matters, family law, personal injury law and commercial litigation. Montalto-Bly’s practice will focus on family and matrimonial law, particularly high-net-worth divorces, as well as child custody and child support disputes.

“I’m very pleased to have Danielle join us as a partner,” said Avi Cohen, who founded the firm in 2015 after spending more than eight years at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP. “She is one of the top family law practitioners in the industry, and I’m looking forward to how she will help strengthen and grow our family law practice.”

Montalto-Bly will lead the firm’s new office in Manhattan, which it plans to open this summer, and she will head up the firm’s practice handling complex, high-net-worth divorces. The firm focuses on clients across New York’s five boroughs, as well as those in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties.

“I’m thrilled to join a firm with such a strong track record of success in family law,” Montalto-Bly said. “Avi has built a highly respected practice, and I’m very excited to help it grow and innovate in the field of family and matrimonial law.”

Montalto-Bly has nearly a decade of family law experience and was previously at Zelenitz, Shapiro & D’Agostino P.C., where she focused on contested and uncontested divorces, child support disputes, and custody and visitation disagreements. Montalto-Bly is also a frequent writer on family law topics.

“Our mission is to ease the sting of divorce and other family law disputes for clients by walking them through the process in the most seamless and effective way possible,” Montalto-Bly said. “We have a wealth of experience in family law matters, and we review all options for clients to find the optimal approach for each individual case.”

Montalto-Bly earned her law degree from New York Law School in 2011 and her bachelor’s degree in political science and government from St. Francis College in 2007.
